2009 Calendar

Have an open-water event you’d like advertised? We want to let people know about it. If you’re hosting a multi-sport event, you must be hosting at least one event consisting solely of a swim.

  2. We would like to advertise and promote our annual 1-mile open water race on beautiful Flathead Lake in Polson, Montana. This year’s race is August 1, 2009. Can you give us information on promoting it through this calendar and website and perhaps others that would enjoy knowing about this event?

Orillia Ontario Canada Saturday August 8 hosts a 4km Open Water Sun City Swim across Lake Couchiching…it is a timed event sanctioned by OAT…it is a charity swim…so swimmers are asked to raise $100 or more to support Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital…each swimmer requires their own personal support person in a canoe or kayak…for more information and registration forms contact hjbrown@osmh.on.ca

    5th Annual Ti2Y 1.5 mile Bay Bridge Swim

    This challenging 1.5 mile course begins off the shores of Treasure Island and ends in San Francisco at Rincon Park. A swift ferry ride from the Port of San Francisco shuttles you off the coast of Treasure Island where the course begins. Swim parallel to the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge and finish at Rincon Park.

    Expect choppy waters around 57-64 degrees and amazing views of the San Francisco skyline. The numbers are limited to 400 swimmers so sign up now. Register at http://www.active.com. Any questions email ti2y@ymcasf.org.
