A video perspective of the Chesapeake Bay Swim
June 24, 2009 at 1:55 am | In Allison, Chesapeake Bay Swim, Video | 4 CommentsThanks to Mary Ruppe and her production crew. Check out the race start. Why is one swimmer wearing a green cap? Watch this if you want a first-hand perspective of packet pick-up, the mass start, and the race finish. Mary, the second-place woman, made it across in 1:52 — an hour faster than I did.

I was also wondering about that green cap!

I know. They’re so adamant about your caps. I think green was one of last year’s colors.

I swam this race (and finished!) in 1991 and 1992. Fletcher Hanks was the coordinator back then. Does anyone have access to an archive of the finishers for those years?

You can find information on past finishers (and lots of other good Bay stuff) here: http://bayswim.home.att.net/basic_stats.html
